Chateau Thivin Sept Vignes tonight. Reliably wonderful with duck breast and blackcurrant coulis. Second half of decanted bottle to empty half from last night - this is a clever trick.
This Hungarian is a cracker for the price! Get your hands on some, if you like Cabernet Franc. It had a lovely colour- medium ruby, with a touch of garnet, and the nose was all bramble and autumn and a touch of tobacco too. Lovely, light and fresh on the palate - but had a nice weight to it nevertheless, with smooth tannins and pleasant acidity. Not a very long finish, but a highly satisfying wine for £6.99!
